Born and raised in Houston, Dr. Seger is a Strake Jesuit alumnus. He obtained his BS degree in Chemistry from Southern Methodist University, where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa. John graduated from UT Houston Medical School before completing internship and residency at Baylor College of Medicine. He completed a Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship at the Texas Heart Institute, and obtained further training in Cardiac Electrophysiology at the University of California, San Francisco, the birthplace of modern arrhythmia ablation. Dr. Seger is one of the highest volume device (pacemaker and defibrillator) implanters in the United States, and he is a nationally recognized leader in this area. He has chaired national conferences and international committees in the area of device implantation, and he is sought after as an educator in this arena. |
